The therapeutic action of essential oils is multi-faceted, with psychological, neurological, immunological and microbiological effects. This can be partly explained by the characteristics of essential oil constituents. Added to this is the synergistic action between constituents within a single oil, and the synergistic action between two or more essential oils.
