September 19th: One-day Workshop
Clinical Safety for Aromatherapy: The Way Forward
I talked about safety in relation to all body systems, focusing on drug interactions, pregnancy and cancer. Understanding and applying some basic principles enables practitioners to make informed decisions. Pertinent information included essential oil composition, when to extrapolate constituent data, differentiating hazard and risk, and weighing benefit against risk.
September 21st: One-hour lecture
Essential Oils: Safety Scares & Myths
Is tea tree shampoo estrogenic? Is thyme oil hypertensive? Does lavender oil kill skin cells? Safety issues may be generated by well-intentioned aromatherapists, quackbusting doctors, organizations with their own agenda, or the “internet genie.” It can be difficult to figure out what’s going on, and some outcomes may be surprising.

This event was the only opportunity to buy advance copies of this much-anticipated text! One hundred twenty copies were sent directly from the printers in China to St. Petersburg. The official publication date is October 18th. The book will be available as a print book or an ebook (both at the same price), and will be listed on Amazon. You may be able to pre-order, but copies will not be released by book sellers before Oct 18th.
