April 2012 – Robert is interviewed by EssentialWholesale.com’s “Essential U” blog, covering his background, passions, and current work in the field of aromatherapy and essential oils research.

EW: Describe the first time you knew plants and aromatherapy would become such a major force in your life.

RT: It was in 1967. I was sitting on a train in Paddington station, waiting for it to leave, to take me back to boarding school. I was 18, and my mother had recently come back from Paris with a French book on aromatherapy signed by the author, Dr. Jean Valnet. I was inspired. I remember thinking that I should “do something” with aromatherapy, that I wanted to bring it into every home in England. It was just so incredibly fascinating.

March 2012 – Robert is quoted in an article for Select Magazine USA entitled “Radiant Beauty for a Conscious Mind”:

“Essential oils are more effective than synthetic ingredients”, claims Robert Tisserand, aromatherapy consultant, teacher and author of The Art of Aromatherapy. “Some natural ingredients are able to offer benefits such as antioxidant action that are difficult to match synthetically. Natural ingredients often have a more attractive efficacy and safety profile,” he says. “There is more research activity than at any time in the past, relating to both essential oils and essential oil constituents. There’s also a tremendous interest in the cosmetics industry, and I believe there are some unexplored possibilities for essential oils there.”
