Robert Tisserand

Robert Tisserand
I have spent 15 years as a massage therapist, 12 years as a publisher/editor, 18 years as an educator, and 35 years developing personal care products, though not consecutively. In 1988 I founded The Tisserand Institute, setting new standards for vocational aromatherapy education. In 2000, I moved from the UK to California, and took a break from teaching. I guess I could call it a sabbatical. I am now heading back into education, while continuing with product development consultancy. I spend much of my time tracking all the published research relevant to essential oils and I often collaborate on projects with doctors, herbalists and pharmacologists. I am familiar with the foundations of oriental medicine, and Western herbal and naturopathic traditions, with their emphasis on cleansing, protecting, strengthening immune function and aiding natural healing processes.

Tisserand Aromatherapy
The company I started in 1974 is now called Tisserand Aromatherapy, and I still act as a consultant. If you are interested in checking out Tisserand products, go to www.tisserandusa.com (USA) or www.tisserand.com (UK)
